DJ Mike Kelly (30, born Sydney), has had headphones on for over 15 years. He began in Sydney´s underground/rave scene, and has morphed with the inspiration of a massive list of cities and musical movements.

Mike´s audio taste spectrum is eclectic. Each set is uniquely influenced by its temporal/physical settings. Musically, he attempts fusion in orgy! Hypnotic melodies combine, sexy bass-lines propel the floor energy forward; sensual-spatial environments encompass the air; romantic imagery warms the soul, and his turntablism (decks & fx) heightens the intensity. Categorically, this fused and confused hybrid is a meshing of progressive, house, tech, tribal, electro, trance, minimal, disco, funk and breaks - the kind that makes you dance the skin off your feet!

Initially educated by turntablists in the art of vinyl manipulation, and later inspired by a diverse range of DJs (Mark Farina, John Digweed, Steve Lawler) and producers (Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk, The Cure, Hybrid, Axwell, Simon&Shaker), this decknician has coupled his passion for innovative music & mixing techniques with his love for emotional musical landscapes.

Mike has played Sydney's Mardi Gras party 7 out of the last 8 years - he is one of few underground DJs to command a regular main slot. Other Sydney highlights at Fox Studios include the massive Inquisition and Sleaze Ball parties (2002/05).

Mike was main resident at Sydney's premier leather event Indulgence (2003/05) and he performs once per year, since moving to Germany. Whilst DJing in Sydney, in the period 1999-2005, Mike was resident DJ for The Civic, Manacle/The Barracks, Mars Lounge, Soho, Home, Lookin´ Good, MASH, Icebox, Lord Robert, Colombian, and Stonewall (many concurrently) until his departure to Germany in 2005.

In Australia, he has regularly toured to Brisbane (Family); Melbourne (Woofclub, 4x4, The Market, Throb, Redemption); Lismore (Tropical Fruits/Tribal Fruits); and Newcastle (Gateway).

Mike Kelly completed Media & Music production studies at Macquarie University, and worked 1996-2001 on Sydney radio 2SER, BEAT and OUT FM, as presenter, DJ, producer, track selector/editor, and DJ co-ordinator. More recently his DJ sets have been featured on premier Australian dance music sessions, Triple J radio's MIX UP and THE CLUB, as well as BluRadio in Berlin. He was also the DJ/dance music correspondent for SX National magazine for 2 years before heading overseas.

Internationally, Mike first explored EU (2000-2004) playing London clubs The End, Heaven, Playtime and Fingerlickin´s Bar Vinyl, as well as GMF in Berlin.

In 2005, Mike moved to Germany on a musical exploration tour, following only the sounds that got deeper than his ears. Inspired by Greenkomm (Cologne), Mike's sound developed an extra dimension of spatiality. Mike was invited to be resident of Greenkomm (Cologne) and Naughty (Brussels) to commence 2006, and since to perform in Brussels (Love Ball), Madrid (Space Of Sound, Royal@Cool, Euro Pride Parade and But club, Strong G*Matic, The Angel), Amsterdam (Furball, Canal Pride), Paris (Mecx, La Scene, Bear Drop), Barcelona (Souvenir for Circuit Festival, Apollo Theatre for Loveball), Milan (Billy, Amnesia), Torremelinos (Palladium), Rome (Muccassassina), Padova (The Block) and Kitchen Club (Switzerland) and more.

MK now resides in Cologne, excited by every Greenkomm, and is helping develop new events Night Control and Collon Control. Mike is a regular at the notorious CSD street party; this year performed his first European live-remix sets with guitarist Nono at the mega party, Colour - following the success of this show at Naughty Brussels.

In 2008, Mike made his Love Parade Germany debut to the record 1.6 million strong street parade in Dortmund! In Berlin Mike is a regular at GMF (The Weekend), and performs at Hustlaball (Kit Kat), Folsom Europe, and PiG. In Frankfurt, Mike has combined elements from Indulgence (Sydney) with Greenkomm (Cologne) at UC (The Saint). MK headlined the final of the prestigious Cap San Diego events (Hamburg 2005), and returns annually for Sl*t Club, the Bunker and Obsession. Never resting, this travel-aholic appears sporadically in Leipzig, Stuttgart, Essen and Mannheim.

MK's current residencies outside of Germany are: Naughty (Brussels), Mecx (Paris), Furball (Amsterdam), Mezzo Giorno (Antwerp), Indulgence (Sydney) and Insatiable (global).

Inspiriert wurde Mike von DJ-Größen wir Mark Farina, Ian Pooley, Sander Kleinenberg, John Digweed und vielen anderen, wie auch von Produzenten wie Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk The Cure, Hybrid oder Guy Gerber. Mike verbindet seine Leidenschaft für innovative Klänge und seine Mixtechnik mit seiner Liebe für emotionale musikalische Landschaften.

Musikalisch darf man daher hypnotische Melodien, sexy Bässe, gefühlvolle Klänge und einen feurigen Rhythmus erwarten, angesiedelt -um es zu kategorisieren- zwischen House, Progressive, Tribal, Tech, Electro und Trance.

Mike war seinerzeit der jüngste DJ der beim Sydneyer Mardi Gras aufgelegt hat. In 2008 wird es das sechste Mal sein, dass er in Folge auf dem Hauptfloor auflegt. Seine Gigliste aus Australien allein ist schon sehr beeindruckend.

Seinen Weg nach Europa fand er in in 2000 wo er in London in Clubs wie dem Discotec@The End oder dem Heaven auflegt. In 2005 zog Mike nach Deutschland.

Inspiriert von der Musik, die er bei der GreenKomm erlebt hat, entwickelte Mike sein Set weiter in eine neue Klangdimension. So wunderte es nicht, dass er nach kürzester Zeit auf den größten europäischen Events und in den angesagtesten Clubs auflegt. Um nur einige aufzuzählen: Naughty in Brüssel, Space of Sound in Madrid, Furball in Amsterdam….

Mike lebt derzeit in Köln wo er seit 2007 Resident der GreenKomm ist. Darüber hinaus legt er regelmäßig auf dem Strassenfest des CSD's auf. Ebenso regelmäßig ist er auch im Berliner GMF oder dem KitKatKlub in Berlin gebucht. Auch die Großevents in der Lederszene werden gern von ihm beschallt.
